Pegasus Bay Riesling

Riesling traditionally divides opinion when it comes to wine tasting. Many love its fragrant nose and varied flavour profile however some people are still put off by associations with saccharine sweet wines bearing the name. Well, we’ve tasted a few great varieties over the last few months however the Pegasus Bay Riesling from New Zealand is an absolutely stand out wine that we’d thoroughly recommend.

Although the grape originates in the Rhone Valley in Germany it has travelled across the globe and this new world variety has a fantastic flavour profile. It carries the traditional yellow-golden colour of a Riesling and is packed with flavour and a full bodied finish. Expect apple, lemon and stone fruit on both the nose and palate with a fantastic minerality which balances the wine well. The off dry finish provides a crisp finality to this fantastic wine that works well with the undertones of tropical spice.
