Espresso Martini

The Espresso Martini is without doubt one of the most famous and recognisable cocktails around the world. However in cocktail terms, the Espresso Martini has a relatively short history dating back to the early 80’s, first created by bartender Dick Bradsel. According to Dick a famous model entered the Soho Brasserie where he was working and asked him to create a drink that would “wake me up”.

Here at the Monteiths cocktail bar Edinburgh we like to take classic cocktails and put our stamp on them with a slight twist. And our Espresso Martini is no different. Our cocktail bar team have created a delicious variation using bourbon, liqueurs & fresh ingredients. If you would like to try your hand at a spot of mixology below and the ingredients and step by step process you can follow:

25ml Jim Beam Double Oak Bourbon

25ml Toussaint Coffee Liqueur

15 ml Frangelico liqueur

5ml house vanilla syrup

30ml fresh espresso

Shake all the ingredients with ice and double strain into a chilled coupe glass. All you need now is a supermodel to walk in and share it with you.
